You can see our Terms of Use here.

UpLift Privacy Policy

At UpLift Health Inc. we understand how important the privacy of your information is. This policy tells you what information we collect, what we do with that information, what options you have regarding what information you share, and the security of the information we store.

Use of UpLift is governed by the Terms of Use (https://www.uplift.app/termsofuse). By using or accessing UpLift in any way, you hereby agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully to fully understand how your information will be collected, used, stored, and shared.

What Information We Collect, and How We Use It

Personal Information

“Personal Information” means any information that could be used to contact or identify you. When you register for an account, we will ask for your name, email address, and other Personal Information. In addition, during the course of UpLift you will be asked questions about your physical and mental health, and health related data will be generated by your use of the program (for example, in the form of a “mood journal” that you fill out in the course of using UpLift). All of this constitutes Personal Information.

This information is used by UpLift to allow the proper functioning of the program, to customize it to you, and to investigate problems with the program or analyze use. We may use it to evaluate and improve the program. We may also “de-personalize” the data, meaning strip it of all identifying information, and examine it ourselves or aggregate and share it with others, for example, in order to demonstrate user response to the program or evaluate effectiveness. In these cases, your personal data will not be identifiable as yours.

For all of these purposes, we may combine Personal Information with Non-Personal Information.

We may continue to use your data even after you have discontinued your use of UpLift.

Testimonials

If you enjoy UpLift, we may ask if you would like to provide a testimonial of your experience with the program. Providing this testimonial is entirely voluntary. If you choose to provide us with a testimonial, you grant us the right to use this testimonial within UpLift and outside of UpLift, such as in advertising, and to share it with third parties; for example, potential clients, without royalty or other payments to you.

Payment Information

When you create an account for UpLift, you may be asked to provide a credit card number to pay for UpLift. You may also be required to provide other Personal Information to ensure that the transaction is properly authorized, including your address, zip code, and cv number (the three-digit number on the back of your credit card). We may share this information with third parties only as is necessary to process your payment (for example, with a credit-card processing service). However, these third parties will be under agreement not to share your Personal or Payment Information with any other parties, and to use it only as is necessary to process your payment.

Emails

We use your email address to keep in touch with you about your progress in UpLift and to encourage you to meet your goals within the program. If you do not wish to receive these emails, you may opt-out at any time by adjusting your email preferences in the “Settings” menu.

Your email is also used to contact you when necessary about changes in UpLift policy. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of your Personal Information, including your email. If your personal information is not accurate, we may not be able to contact you, including regarding changes to our Terms of Use or Privacy Policy. Please note that, if we are not able to send you emails regarding changes in policy, either due to inaccurate Personal Information or because you have unsubscribed from UpLift emails, your use of UpLift will still be governed by any notices of change in policy contained within such emails.

Other People’s Information

Within UpLift, we provide the option for you to share your progress with a friend, therapist, or someone of your choosing. To do this, you will be asked to provide their email address, name, gender, and other information about them. Choosing to share your progress with someone else is entirely voluntary. If you choose to do so, we will only use the email address and other information you provide us for the person you choose to share your progress with in order to send them emails regarding your progress. They may unsubscribe from these emails at any time, and you will not be notified. You may choose to discontinue sharing your progress with your friend or therapist at any time in the “Settings” menu.

Non-Personal Information

“Non-Personal Information” means information that cannot be used to identify you. When you use UpLift, we receive and record information connected to the use of our site, which may include your IP address, device identification and information, browser information, “cookie” (small files that we transfer to your browser or device that allow the program to recognize your browser or device) information, and the pages visited or features used. This information allows us to evaluate how users are using the program, and to adjust the program accordingly to better meet user needs (for example, eliminating unused features or expanding popular ones). We may also share this information, with identifying information removed, with other entities for business purposes, for example in the case of a health-care provider considering entering into a contract with UpLift. In any such case, your Personal Information will not be identifiable as yours. We may continue to use your data in anonymous form, even after you have discontinued your use of UpLift.

This data may be merged with technology (browser and device used, etc.), demographic, and behavior data gathered by Facebook or Google Analytics. All data used for these purposed will be de-identified and anonymized.

We may use Facebook Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and/or other services or methods to analyze this data and apply it to advertising campaigns, using Custom Audiences, Google User ID, and/or other tools.
